K2 Rictor Ski
The K2 Rictor ski was designed, built and manufactured the advanced skier in mind no doubt. The all terrain rocker will allow you to dominate and control turns easily and smooth. It’s not quite as wide as the traditional ski and you will definitely experience more pop from the K2 Rictor but you can expect it to grab hold of the surface really nicely, so you can cut out turns and curves with great stability and control and get more out of this ski. It will get a hold of the edges great in soft powder, not quite ideal for the packed snow but still is an all mountain ski that will perform in any condition or surface.
This is the marque of K2′s all mountain ski list of products. The construction is made from metal laminate that will give you a nice stiff controlling ability. You will experience a very smooth performance in any snow condition and be able to strap these bad boys on just about anywhere on any mountain in any resort from beginner to advanced skilled level skiers. The K2 Rictor skis are offered in various lenghts including 160, 167, 174 and 181 cm’s and have a side cut of 127-80-109 with a radius of 16m at 174 and are made up from a wood core of aspen and paulownia woods.
All Terrain Rocker Technology – The most versatile rocker profile in the line, all terrain rocker has rocker in the front 30% of the ski and camber through the rest. This means you get the increased off trail performance, better float and easier turn initiation of rocker, but camber under foot maintains power and edge hold.
Metal Laminate Hybridtech Sidewall Construction – Titanal metal layers give the ski power and a smooth, damp ride. K2 perforates these metal layers to remove unnecessary material and lighten up the ski. Hybridtech combines the power and shock absorbing characteristics of an ABS sidewall under foot with the light weight and smooth turn initiation of a cap in the tip and tail. This is the most complex construction K2 makes and delivers accurate, unshakeable performance.
Aspen and Paulownia wood core with ABS sidewalls – Wood core with K2’s signature triaxial braided glass and ABS sidewalls give the ski a smooth, solid feel with lots of energy rebound. K2 uses different types of wood to achieve different characteristics, aspen is a dense, solid wood that gives the ski extra strength and stability, paulownia is a fast growing, eco friendly material that is 15% lighter than aspen, but still super strong. Sidewall construction puts more mass over the edges for maximum edge hold.
MOD Vibration Dampening – A secondary core placed just under the top sheet is designed to insulate the skier from vibrations that travel through the ski, like shocks on your car. Less vibration means better edge hold on hard snow and less fatigue.
ModMonic Vibration Reduction – A ModMonic weight is mounted on top of the ski in a location where vibration is focused by the shape of the Mod. Like placing a finger on a tuning fork, the Mod Monic weight quiets the harmonic energy that normally travels through the ski. The Mod Monic design has been refined with a new X shape and a weight of only 25 grams.
No doubt the K2 Rictor ski is for the serious skier on the slopes and can be a bit expensive but well worth the price for that skier that takes the sport serious, your long term investment will be rewarded with a lot of power, control and top notch performances and experiences.
